How would you describe yourself?
I’m a modern renaissance woman. I need to be engaged in creativity, art, philosophy, science, religion, and various other musings to feel satisfied with life.
How do you spend your time?
I practice writing, modeling, and acting. In my very limited free time, I also enjoy drawing, dancing, dressing up in costumes, angsty karaoke, and going to cultural events in the city. I’m also constantly reading about current events, arts, sciences, and politics.
Since you’re into the arts, what type of genre character do you identify with most?
The action heroine or what I call the “classy femme fatale.” Someone intelligent, magnetic, and self-possessed. She’s got shit to do and she gets it done, with a smirk and a wink along the way.
What are your favorite foods?
Avocados and coconuts. In everything.
Tell us about your background…
I was raised on SoCal beaches and soap operas. In high school, I wrote and performed an original poem that won me a scholarship to San Diego Junior Theatre. I also participated in Shakespeare competitions and studied at the Old Globe Theater before going to UCLA for a B.A. in English/Creative Writing. I’ve published poetry and prose in journals, a textbook by Oxford University Press, and even a New York Times-bestselling anthology. Post college, I taught English in Japan for a year then moved to NorCal and stayed put for 11+ years so far.
So San Francisco won you over?
It sure did. There’s nothing like the colors and architecture here. And the opportunities are diverse. I’ve modeled for lifestyle/catalog/print work, performed my poetry, managed a boutique financial services firm, been the Treasurer of a non-profit, and worked as a Brand Ambassador/Promotional Model.
What projects are you currently working on?
A memoir in poems…and a billion simultaneous things haha…wish I could stay on one path and get it done quicker but I’m a synthesizer at heart. Find me on Instagram to stay up to date! 🙂
